Launching

Competitors at Indian Well State Park launch from the sandy beach by walking boats into the water. The water temperature is comfortable and the bottom is sandy. There is no dock.Take your shoes with you in the boat so you will have them when you return.
Launching and exit chutes are at each end of the beach. Please obey the signs marking these locations. Crews are allowed to launch as early as they want. The first call to launch will be made 40 minutes prior to the start.
Only the crew carrying the boat and their coach are allowed on the beach. A beachmaster will direct the crew to an empty spot from which the boat can be launched. Boats should proceed directly to the warm-up area downstream/south of the beach after launching; do not linger in front of the beach.
Returning boats should point their bow toward the beach to protect the fin and rudder. The bow person should step out of the boat first. Make a quick departure from the beach to make room for other returning crews.
